The Kansas City Retriever Club is an organization devoted
to the conservation of wildfowl through the training and use of all breeds of
retrievers and has been serving the retriever enthusiasts in Kansas City and the
surrounding area since 1954. We are a proud member of the National
Retriever Club, the National Amateur Retriever Club and the Master National
Retriever Club.
The Kansas City Retriever Club is dedicated to the
advancement of all retriever breeds: Labrador Retrievers, Golden Retrievers,
Chesapeake Bay Retrievers, Flat Coat Retrievers, Curly Coat Retrievers, Nova
Scotia Duck Tollers,
Irish Water Spaniels and Standard Poodles.
The Kansas City Retriever Club boasts over 160
members strong that include professional men and women, retired folks,
home-makers, waterfowl hunters, upland game hunters, professional dog trainers, breeders, hunting guides, pet groomers
and those that just have an interest in conservation by using trained
retrievers.
Our club sponsors two AKC licensed
field trials a
year, two AKC licensed hunt tests a year, four
KCRC sanctioned trials a
year, and several training sessions. We are looking forward to adding some
more activities starting in 2006. Be sure and check back and see what we
have planned.
We hold three general membership meetings a year.
The one in February is a dinner, general meeting,
activities and where the yearly "Member of the
Year" and "Rookie of the Year" awards are announced. The one in
July is a BBQ
cook-out, general meeting and where we have various fun outdoor activities. The
one in December is a celebration dinner, general meeting,
yearly club award winners are announced, yearly significant accomplishment
certificates are given and where the new officers and
board are voted on.
If you have any questions regarding Club activities,
questions about joining the Kansas City Retriever Club
or looking for training groups in your area, please email your questions to
questions@kcrc.net and a board member will
get back with you as quick as possible with an answer.
